Early Grassroots Leadership
Hon. Mijinyawa began his political career in the 1990s as councillor for Limawa Ward in Yola North LGA, where he quickly gained recognition for his dedication to addressing local needs. He prioritized improving access to basic services, fostering community development, and engaging directly with residents to ensure their voices were heard and acted upon.
Local Government Chairman
As Chairman of Yola North Local Government, Hon. Mijinyawa worked tirelessly to improve education by rehabilitating schools and upgrading facilities, creating a more conducive environment for students to learn and thrive.
He also championed healthcare and water projects, overseeing the construction of clinics and installation of boreholes, which greatly enhanced residents’ access to clean water and essential medical services across communities.
State Government Leadership
Hon. Mijinyawa previously served as Commissioner for Land & Survey, where he demonstrated strong administrative skills and a commitment to efficient resource management. Later appointed to lead the Ministry of Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, he has continued to excel, fostering cooperative governance between the state and Local Government Areas. His efforts have strengthened collaboration, ensuring that policies and initiatives are effectively implemented at the grassroots level, ultimately improving service delivery and community development across the state.
